Finally... sweet sixteen (:

It's 11:45 pm right now, and in 15 min, i will be 16 :)  It's so weird how things during 16 years of my life have changed. I was reading a blog from one of my friends who recently turned 18 on December 26 (Happy Birthday Ally!)  Lol, on her post she wrote 18 things about her, that many people don't know... and reading through them, made me understand a lot more things about her.... so I'm not 18, but here are 16 things about me.. things that very few people actually know :)

1. My full name at birth was Elizabeth Rosemarie Hoffmanner, because my parents weren't married, but shortly after, they changed it from Hoffmanner to Brendle, and in 5th grade, my parents got married. I am named after my aunt Betty, and my grandma- Rosemary.

2. Ever since i was little, my passion has been with animals. One thing my mom and i did have in common was our love for animals. I was raised with 3 dogs, 6 cats, 2 rabbits, 3 turtles, and many other guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and ever a snake at one time. That was the normal for me, having a huge amount of pets, they were like family. Still to this day, no matter what i am when i grow up, i know i want to live in Tennessee with (not as many as i did growing up) but a lot of animals (mostly horses!).

3. I'm a teenager, the music i listen to, will explain more about what mood I'm in and whats going on, than what actually comes out of my mouth.

4. I absolutely LOVE to write. I remember writing little stories in 4th grade about a young girl who rode her horse around the world to help people in need. I love writing- especially poetry. I'm not that good, but one of my dreams is to get some of my stuff published.

5. I am a huge bookworm. I love reading  because it can take you to a hole other world. I remember when i was younger reading the magic tree house books. I loved how i would read them and actually feel like i was in the various places they will go. My all time favorite books are; The 5 people you meet in heaven; Oceans apart, Dear John and Sun Stand Still. ( I have a lot of others, but i can't think of them right now.)  And my all time favorite author is; Karen Kingsbury.

6. This coming up Valentines Day will mark 4 years that i haven't eaten meat. A lot of people ask why, and honestly, i really don't have a solid answer i guess. I mean, i think it's wrong to kill animals for meat, and everything but i think the real reason is because my dad and i were talking about it 4 years ago, and he told me that he didn't think i would last for 6 months, and after i succeeded, i just didn't think of it the same. I remember watching a video on a website and freaking out because of how they kill baby pigs.... If i ever go back to eating meat- it will only be chicken... because when i was little, my cousins mom had a chicken who would attack you if he got the chance, and from the point on after he chased me into the car, i have hated chickens lol.

7. I am probably the biggest dork when it comes to "scary" shows. If something that is like mystery/ sci fi or just plain scary, all the lights in the room I'm in have to be on, the blinds have to be shut and the door must be locked. I don't know why,but i just don't like scary shows.

8. A lot of people criticize me on my choice of never touching alcohol- but it's because i have seen too much. Alcoholism has affected my family in more ways than i can count. Nearly everyone on my mothers side of the family is addicted to alcohol. I'm not saying that if i take a sip out of something, that i will automatically be addicted, but i just don't want to. To me, it's a waste of life. People commonly miss use it to "solve" their problems, when only it makes everything worse. So for me and my body, we are going to stay alcohol free :)

9. I'm strongly conservative, and i don't show it that much. I am 100% for having God in school, and that's one of the main reasons. There's manyyy others too- like no abortion, and stuff like that, but it's too late to start talkn' about politics ;) lol.

10. Isaiah 40:31- is my all time favorite Bible Verse. It has helped me in ways indescribable. "But those who TRUST in the Lord,  will renew their strength. They will soar high like on wings of Eagles. They will run and not grow weary, the will walk and not grow faint".

11. For reasons that are personal, i have made the choice to adopt instead of have myself. There are too many children that are going unloved everyday, and i feel as if God is telling me that; that is what i need to do.

12. When people ask me how I'm doing, i usually just say the same thing; "fine". Because i'm too afraid of what they will think if i tell them the truth, because likely, it won't be too happy.

14.  2011, has been by- far one of the hardest years of my life, and i'm glad to think that it's over, and that i can move on to 2012

15. (these lasts ones are really hard to do) I was baptized on January 16 2010. It was THE best day of my life, and it's almost been a year so far, and i'm proud to say that i am a Christian <3

16. (Everyone i know, knows this about me.)  Jesus Christ Is my savior, my favorite color is teal, i absolutely positively LOVE hummus ( weird right!?) I like polka dots and zebra print, I have a bunny named Buddy.... who loves to shed -_-, I hate the word Cancer, and i wish that life had a rewind, fast-forward and pause button.

So... there ya have it.You just learned 16  new things about me :)  All of my friends are coming over later on today to celebrate my birthday with me and i'm super excited. (:  Yesterday i spent half the day making my birthday cake. It didn't turn out how i initially planned it, but am still really happy with it :)  (Below is the pic).
I can't wait to see what being 16, does in my life. :)
